Waited about 30 minutes for seating and it was worth the wait. Best fish and chips ever. The batter was so light - and endless servings of chips seemed to be a big hit!

The best fish and chips I've had in the UK. The service is great: staff are super friendly and attentive. I always order the Fred's Finest for just 12.50 which gives you a glass of wine and delicious pot of tea at the end of your meal. Unlike other places, the batter is not too thick. Chips are all you can eat chunky chips. Personally not fond of the mushy peas; nontheless, Chez Fred was recommended to my partner and I by our previous landlord, and continues to be a recommendation!

First night in Westbourne with the family, wanted a quick tea and Chez Fred was recommended to us. What a great choice. Friendly helpful staff and great fish and chips.

Absolutely delicious. We waited for about 20 minutes as warned for a table for 7. Service was prompt and food was delicious. The fish is all fried, but in allergen free batter. They even have a dedicated gluten free fry day. Fish was super fresh and everyone left satisfied and smiling.

Fish and chips done right.
Cooked fresh to order, the friendly staff at Chez Fred serve up the best chippy food I've had for ages! Hot chips, fresh fish, homemade tartar sauce, battered sausage, pickled onions and cans of pop - a proper traditional chippy unassumingly sat on Seamoor Road. If you're in the area go here.
The only reason it's not 5 stars is the portion sizes - they are on the small side, which is great for the waistline but a bit of a disappointment to the starving seaside belly you get at the end of a long day at the beach. For around £12 for 2 meals, you are full and it is great quality so it isn't a huge issue.
There's also a restaurant if you'd prefer silverware and a plate rather than the paper bags and wooden cutlery (which were actually really good) you're given in the adjoining takeaway.
